Hunger Lamenting

“Adorning tower, damsel lies …”

Impoverished mercenary’s ear catches tavern’s whisper.

Beasts oppose between, governed by their master’s hand.

Reward awaits to satiate yearning fill.

Mercenary rides, hunger lamenting.

Into forest, goblins ambush gleefully; numerous but overwhelmed.

“Our Master shall feast! Best hurry!”

Further, mercenary goes to arms against drakes. Imposing, yet subdued to steel.

Personal void wracks him; eyes to distant tower, hunger lamenting.

Yearning fill so close, mercenary rises; marching forward.

Dragon’s fire greets and intentions collide; one lives, another dies.

Beautiful damsel, arms open to mercenary, grins slyly, enveloping him in vine.

“Now, for my fill!” Sorceress sings. Void creeps.

Desperate gaze lingers on towering foe, vines tearing.

“You know not my hunger lamenting.”

Binds sundered, mercenary lashes at sorceress; unfathomable desire seeking to dominate deceit.

Defeated true, sorceress wears a glittering red necklace.

Spent, mercenary sits to wallow in hunger lamenting.

Until wandering eyes spy desired nourishing.

Impoverished mercenary’s stomach filled.
