Humanity: A Storm of Day and Night
A Sonnet on the Duality of Human Nature

We each have two faces.

Morning light shines upon his handsome face
A bright glow that catches every new breath;
All around him long for his fond embrace
His warmth and shield from echoes of the dark.

Yet night reveals the shadow he conceals
A wounded soul that breaches with its sin;
His want now turns to wound that cannot heal
His kindness lapses into cruel lies

A soul that rides the storm of day and night.
His damaged truth still lives, both well and ill;
The halves together form the human soul
A dissonant sound bound by truth and pain.

And so he walks, both Good and Evil's son;
A spirit bound on Earth, that lives as one.

I love your poem! A wounded soul that breaches with its sin; is my favorite line π§‘
πNice little diversion to what I've been up too <3 Lovely poem, Michelle <3
I like how we could see what the bright glow catches. Amazing how the night can uncover a wound. Wow. This was good. The knowledge that a person's kindness could lapse into cruel lies. I could feel how this is so, even in my own self. The soul cannot be bound by nothing but the two of these: truth and pain. Indeed. The last line was chilling. The realisation that he's a mirror of the opposites. He lives with the good of the day and the bad of the night. He carries both. Hes bound to both. Fantastic work Michelle, best of luck on the challenge π€β€οΈ
Powerful and clever presentation of the darkness: may the light always overcome! Excellent entry.
This is such a powerful reflection on duality.
Nice
