Hug Me Once More.

Just once? Just to see if it helps?

What would it take for us to find each other again?

Maybe we could hug each other like when we first met.

My hands shook gently and I dropped my phone.

I wrapped my arms around your neck, resting them on your shoulders.

It was one of the moments, I knew.

In that one moment of this timeline, I knew.

I could feel it when we touched and my whole world came to a stop.

My nerves dropped to nothing.

I found a sense of peace, my coals burned.

But an important distinction between coals and lightning.

Our connection finalized, our permanent tether tied to each other.

Did you not feel that?

It locked into place that night.

So hug me once more.

Embrace me at the end of a driveway.

Maybe on a giant bridge or in a hotel room.

In some random parking lot.

Surprise me and show up at my apartment, we'll hug outside my door.

Would it be enough for you?

To feel that love again, just to touch and hold each other.

Heal our broken hearts and want to try again.

Find reconciliation with ourselves.

Make more promises to stay and try and mean it.

I'd take you in my arms and pull you close.

I know it would be enough for me.

Come hug me.

I see the world a little differently than most. Even at a young age I was writing down what I saw but never sharing it with a soul until now. I'm choosing love over fear.
