Key-holed
Is what I'd like to refer to you as
You've put yourself at the forefront of self importance
All among you not only matter less
But don't exist
You see life through such a small hole
Only your perspective
Only your problems matter
Like looking through a key hole
How unhappy do you have to be
To be able to treat others like dirt
Like dirt you make people feel
People feel like you are being unkind to them
To them you are the lowest hanging branch of society
But society breeds people like you
We get caught up in so much self love, self righteousness, self awareness
But we're not even aware that other people exist!
I watched you order food
You deliberately waited for them to make your order
You ordered them to get it right
But what you did wasn't right
"I'd like jalapenos on my pizza"
*waits until entire pizza is covered*
"Ummmmmmm I only wanted like 6 pieces"
Me: *stares in confusion* asks: "if you only wanted 6 pieces of jalapeno, why did you wait for them to cover your whole pizza? It's like you deliberately wanted them to mess up so you could call them out!"
"This is none of your business," you say
"It is my business," I fire back, "because you're making other people wait and more importantly you're treating these employees like dirt"
"They messed up my order," you counter.
I fire back "and somehow that gives you a license to treat others like they're beneath you? No one cares that your order is messed up, but how unhappy do you have to be in your life, that you seek opportunities to belittle people?"
I have a word for people like you, Darwin. No I'm not calling you that, but rather referring to evolution.
As in, if you don't change your ways and evolve, evolution will take matters into it's own hands.
We have different paths on this earth, in our lifetimes, and none of them involves treating people like dirt.
About the Creator
Joshua Montes
I started writing a few years ago to curb my emotions. I used to be an angry person that would break things and punch walls. I found writing to be a productive way to deal and express my emotions. Short stories and poems are what I love
