How to not Give a Fuck
A poem

First, gather up the hollow words...
The "blood is thicker" lies.
Place them in a taped up box
and offer no goodbyes.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Go find the place where "daughter" lived,
the girl who always gave.
Tell her she has worked enough.
There's nothing left to save.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
You no longer have to stay
and be the family tool.
Turn it off and shut them out.
You are nobody's fool.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
The 'family' stood before you once
and taught you how to bleed.
They used your heart as garden soil
to plant their every greed.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
You were the shadow in the hall
and now, you're painted mean.
Turn it off. It's not your place
to make them all feel seen.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
You were the bank, the ear, the heart...
whenever they were low.
But anytime you needed a hand,
you had nowhere to go.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
So, turn that "give a fuck" to gray.
You must first kill the dream...
the hope they’ll ever see your worth
or hear your silent scream.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Take that guilt they planted deep
and pull it by the root.
It doesn't matter. Let them starve.
You're now forbidden fruit.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
When phones begin to hum and shake,
telling you you're wrong...
Remember that a healthy home
was your right all along.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
The debt they claim you owe to them
for the crime of being born
was paid in full by every year
your spirit was so torn.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Do not respond with burning rage
because fire is still heat.
Indifference is a frozen lake
where they can find no seat.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
You must become like winter air
and harden at their scoff.
The "baby" of the house is gone.
The lights are finally off.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Block the names and clear the logs.
There's nothing left to fear.
There is no law that says you must
keep poison in your ear.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
The shortest word is often best,
When peace is what you seek.
Saying "No" will give you back the soul
they thought was far too weak.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Build a wall of quiet days
stone by heavy stone.
The only way to stop the ache
is to do it on your own.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
Do all the things they said were weird
and wear your colors bright.
The version of you that they once owned
has vanished in the night.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
When you finally cease to look
to see if they have changed,
the peace within your quiet house
is worth life rearranged.
⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥⛓️💥
It isn't cruel to choose a life
where you are finally free.
To let them go is not a sin.
Sometimes, it's meant to be.
