I trust you but how much longer Lord?
One of these days, I just picture myself waltzing into the Promised Land with a plump purple grape between my teeth.
Wait, what?
You mean there is more desert to cross?
A cactus cackles at me and I glare at it in frustration.
It waves a gnarled knuckle at me but then again it might just be the heat getting to me again.
A mirage?
A collage of desert-scape?
The cattle grumble with my stomach.
I munch on some manna and strive to feel more positive.
For a moment, I remember how excellent those Egyptian desserts tasted…
My mouth drys in the heat before it even has the chance to water…

I feel this - waiting, walking, and one more mountain
Just the right bite of honest weariness! Maybe that cactus is just clapping for your perseverance.
Be careful what you wish for....that grass may not be greener...but, if not joy in heaven what do we have to look forward to.
The desert teaches us that there is an oasis, and sometimes the desert is the mirage in the midst of the fruited plain. 😇😇 “Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. The parched ground shall become a pool, And the thirsty land springs of water; In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, There shall be grass with reeds and rushes.” Isaiah 35:4-7 NKJV
