Pizza, Chicken, Hamburger, or Fries?

Tell me,

What's for lunch?

But tell me no lies!

I know,

"Food!"

You'll reply,

While my stomach starts to cry!

"What food?"

I ask,

But I already know your startling reply!

"Food, just food!"

You reply,

While I start to die.

Do I have to get down on my hands and knees?

Or,

Are you the kitchen demon in disguise?

I just want to know what we are going to eat,

I ain't afraid of a little fright!

Maybe I might secretly be your last meal,

But;

Please Sir,

How many times are you going to say,

"Food?"

I just want my lunch now!

I don't know what you were going to have, but that photo of pizza just made me hungry. Well Done Carol.

😁😁😁 That...brought back childhood memories! At Grandma's house..."What's for lunch?" Replies: Duck 'n' peas...duck under the table and peas out the door. Jam and grits...jam your hands in your pockets and grit your teeth. Lovely to read your poem!
