how i wish

that life was different, somehow

By angela hepworthPublished about a year ago 1 min read

how i wish

that life was easy

and i was perfect

and found

instead of lost

and love was forever

instead of fleeting

and trust was strong

hard and unshakable

and strangers were kind

instead of silent

and stories and opinions

were shared and heard

instead of judged

and feared

and crushed into pieces

Angela ... somehow you've put into words there the feelings and cries of my heart lately ... this is just such a beautifully raw piece ... just amazing! 🩷

There is a sadness to this and yet such a soothing flow. Well done, Angela!

The very human cry of this poem is the song of every heart.

Gosh, yes, I wish for all of those things too. This was so well written. Excellent.

This is a poignant poem, and the world it conjures would be vastly superior to our own!
