How do I love you?
Photo by Debby Hudson on Unsplash

I love you how wide, high and deep

My soul reaches when, transported,

Sit, stretching the eyes of this world

The ends of Being, the half-dreamed Grace.

I love you every day, hour and second:

In the sunlight, in the quiet night.

And the passion that floods me is so pure

As for the modesty of those who ask for nothing.

I love you with the pain of old feathers;

With smiles, with tears of prayer,

And the faith of my childhood, naive and strong.

I love you even in the smallest things.

For all life. And, as God wills it,

I will love you even more after death.
