HOUSEWORK I LOVE TO HATE
give me a break . . . PLEASE

HOUSEHOLD CHORES I LOVE TO HATE
I don’t mind the laundry.
Heck, I’d do it all day.
I lose my ambition
To put it away.
*
Into the washer.
Then the dryer is easy.
Then it’s onto the bed –
The pile makes me queasy.
*
I’ll cook all the meals,
And serve them up right!
Then, clean off the table.
There’s no dish left in sight.
*
They’re all the sink,
Where they sit and wait,
As if they think
I’m some sort of date!
*
Dishwasher’s loaded,
The sink is now clear.
Out of the kitchen,
My body I’ll steer.
*
I scrubbed out the bathroom,
Vacuumed the floors,
I dusted each room,
Now, I’m done with my chores!
*
The clothes on the bed?
The clean dishes, you say?
They can wait a big longer
To be put away.
*
Those chose won’t grow legs
And wander away.
I’ll sit and relax
For the rest of the day!
