Goodbyes scar our hearts

But home calls and we answer

Healing will follow

Pam and I are a little more than a month away from leaving Texas and heading back to Wyoming. Leaving family here behind is hard, but grandchildren and new adventures in familiar, loved places await.

Congratulations on placing in the Haiku challenge. Excellent work capturing the bitter sweet of Goodbyes! Trust the relocating goes smoothly. Thankfully, these days, we can more easily retain connections from a distance.💖

This one hit me right in the heart. It’s so tender and grounded—‘home calls and we answer’ says everything without trying too hard. I’m reading through all the haiku entries now, and this one really stood out for its quiet strength. Wishing you and Pam all the best on your next chapter! 🤗

  • This was a heartfelt one. All the best to you and Pam as you navigate a new phase in your lives!
