Have You Seen This Baby Bird
Missing From Dover Delaware
Species - Mockingbird
Age - 4-5 Days Old
Location - In a flower pot, with a strawberry plant in it, sitting on top of a five gallon bucket. It was located up under the eave of our house on a street in Dover, Delaware.
What Happened To Homer
The resident attempted to cut down a yew bush, in the front of the residence, not being aware, there was a bird nest in the bush.
When he cut off the top of the bush, Homer fell out, and left Homer scrambling for cover.
Homers mother being an insufficient bird parent, picked an extremely poor place to build a birds nest. Poor construction of the birds nest was also reported.
Resident then went and got his wife to access the situation. She quickly told her husband to pick the baby bird up with rubber gloves, and put the baby and the nest in a flower pot, with a piece of brush over it.
The Mother Bird Attempted To Feed Homer Over The Next Couple Days
The Bush Trimmers wife than called the bird rescue after the second day and they said to build Homer a bird house with an umbrella over it, and also to build a shelf, that the birds house could sit on.
They didn't want much of two 75 year olds, one of them which was handicapped. That is exactly why I called them, I thought they could come get Homer and save his life.
The Fourth Day
The fourth day, the bush trimmer and his wife had to go to Smyrna Delaware about 20 minutes away to get some frozen yogurt bars, because the stores in Dover were out of them. Homer was alive and in the flower pot, when the bush trimmer checked before they left.
When They Returned Home- Homer Was Missing
Possible Suspect
Neighborhood Feline - Black with white feet. Frequently seen by the bush trimmer in his driveway.
If you have seen Homer or know anything about his whereabouts , please contact the bush trimmer or Retired Detective Bill from Felton, Delaware. He has been on the case since Homer fell out of the nest.
If you have seen or heard anything about Homer, please contact the above people. We tried very hard to save Homer's life and felt very bad about disturbing his nest.
Please check for birds nests in bushes before you trim them. And call your Wild Bird Rescue if you do have an incident like we did. However, you might have to be a carpenter if you get the wrong person.

This is so cute ❤️ Thank you for making me smile ☺️
This is great!!💕💗
Kinda odd how the Bird Rescue didn't help other than give advice (I would have thought they'd be equipped to help a bit more). Poor baby Homer. I hope the bird is okay, wherever it's gone. Great name, though.
Oh no! Poor Homer! A bird makes a nest and lays eggs in my mom’s wreaths every year and I’m afraid their fates are usually just as bleak as Homer’s
