My Grandparents House

By Hope BanyardPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
A monkey puzzle tree, named so because it puzzles the monkeys that try to climb it.

This is the house where we grew up,

And the garden where we played.

Thoughts of long summers in a tree house,

And winter toast on the fire,

Sock games at bedtimes,

Learning to cook, to sew.

This is the house where we grew up,

Where sweetpeas and monkey puzzles grow.

This is the house where we grew up,

Often its colours change -

Still the people who live here are:

Vibrant; Loving; giving

Our all time wonderful Grandparent Heroes,

This is the house where we grew up,

The door is never closed,

This is the place I adore and feel safe,

Its where I grew up...

It's my home.
