Home is in Your Bones

I come from there

Where love isn’t what you think is

I come from there

Where your pain gnaws at you

Your own inner demons keep you stuck, small, less than and afraid

Unworthiness, struggle and yet knowing I am meant for more, right?

Why is life so hard? Does it have to be?

I come from there

So now I can define and create what I call home

The gifts revealed, the path unfolding perfectly

I water those parts of me

that still go back 'there'

Daisies grow in their place

if I choose to love and welcome those parts of me

That never felt like they truly belonged

Here in this world

I define home

I create home, wherever I am

In my bones is my home

I finally choose peace

I finally accept all parts of me

At home in my skin

Even as the voices tell me

Your arms are jiggly

You have cellulite

Look at the dark spots on your face

You are not good enough, ever.

How can your tender heart matter?

Home is at ease with those voices

tuning into the deeper song

The one song sung

by the universe, all souls unified in our differences

As we are all connected

We all feel guilty, fearful or ashamed of something that haunts us

If we allow it to, that is

Yet I rise up and choose to create home

Wherever I am

amidst the chaos

or the unimaginable

Be here now, I whisper to myself so

I can harvest the bounty of home

In my bones

Contributing love

To my fellow brothers + sisters and our planet which is home

Join me

In coming home

To the beauty and messiness of it all

Of being human

Of being here, now

That’s home

You are welcome exactly as you are

With permission to change as you wish

You are loved no matter what

Let our differences and uniqueness provide us shelter + comfort

As we remodel the structure of our home

For the beauty is inside all along

Welcome home, to The New Earth
