Where does it come from,
Where does it go?
We may have to succumb
To the fact we may never know!
This blue dot is set to roam
In complete and perpetual darkness.
But this is our home,
And we are nothing but an accomplice!
We pollute and wage war,
Leaving the ground burnt and poisoned.
Our greed creates gore,
Because we claim to be enlightened.
We act worse than animals,
But see them as inferior.
We are nothing but imbeciles,
And the animals, superior!
We cry for ourselves,
But care even less about our planet.
We blame others when it overwhelms,
And consider those that care, dramatic!
When will we learn
That this is our home?
I truly yearn
For the day we all act grown!

I've always thought of animals as wayyyyy more superior. We humans are the mosnters that have to pay to live on Earth as well as destroy it at the same time. Fantastic poem!
Very different from all the other comfort poem . It’s broader take, enjoyed the read
Very nice, and so true, no wonder I prefer animals to people. :)
I liked this take on the challenge. Your passion for the subject matter really shines through here.
So often we don't think of the earth as home, so this was a great perspective!
