HOLLOW
I don’t know who this shadow of a girl is
She lives in my being and eats away at my passion
I don’t recognize her smile...
I don’t think I’ve ever seen it
She smells of dead flowers and lost dreams
Translucent, paper thin as if she will crumble at
The feeling of wind
Folded inside herself
A crumpled paper ball of all the things I wanted to be
Swallowed by broken promises
Spit out by reality.
I don’t know who this shadow of a girl is
And she’s all that’s left of me.
