Holiday Time

My parents made them fun.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

I remember holidays as a kid.

On Easter our baskets, filled with candy, eggs

Were hid in our house.

We enjoyed hunting and finding them.

On the fourth of July,

We saw a parade and fireworks.

On Halloween we dressed up, went trick-or-treating

I enjoyed being a witch.

On Thanksgiving my mom was busy.

She made parker house rolls and several pies.

We ate a big meal with turkey, dressing,

Potatoes and gravy and cabbage salad.

Christmas time was sure fun.

We got to shop at a few stores

And bought a gift for $10.00

For a family member.

We always had a real tree.

I helped decorate it.

We looked at pretty lights in our area.

We received gifts like games, coloring books.
