Oh, You better watch out!
You better not cry!
You better not pout- or they’ll figure out why!
Don’t dare let them know that you’re down.

They’re making their lists.
Some are checking them twice.
They’re all drinking up- why don’t YOU bring the ice?!
Don’t dare let them know that you’re down.
~
They can’t know you’re not sleeping!
Don’t tell them you’re awake!
Don’t show you’re doing bad!
“I’m good!”
Just act ‘good’ for everyone’s sake!
~
Oh, you better watch out!
Be alone when you cry.
Keep the façade in place- or they’ll want to know why!
You can’t let them know you are down.
~
They can’t know you aren’t merry!
Can’t know you’re gonna break!
Don’t let them see your pain-
“I’m good!”
Just act ‘good’ for goodness sake!
~
Oh, you better watch out.
Or they’ll know that you care.
Then they’ll want to discuss- and they’ll want you to share!
You can’t let them know you are down!
~
