Hole in the World

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

(Verse 1)

There’s a hole in the world where you used to be,

A void in the daylight, it’s haunting me.

I walk around it, trying to stay clear,

But I stumble in shadows when the night draws near.

(Chorus)

Oh, I miss you so much, it’s tearing me apart,

Falling deeper each night, losing my heart.

In the silence of stars, your memory calls,

I’m trapped in this dream where your laughter falls.

(Verse 2)

The sunlight feels heavy, it’s bright but so cold,

A canvas of colors, but the warmth’s grown old.

I keep searching for echoes, for a sign of our time,

But the moments we shared are now lost in the rhyme.

(Chorus)

Oh, I miss you so much, it’s tearing me apart,

Falling deeper each night, losing my heart.

In the silence of stars, your memory calls,

I’m trapped in this dream where your laughter falls.

(Bridge)

The world keeps on spinning, but I’m stuck in place,

Walking these circles, chasing your face.

Every sunset whispers your name in the breeze,

With each passing hour, I find it hard to breathe.

(Chorus)

Oh, I miss you so much, it’s tearing me apart,

Falling deeper each night, losing my heart.

In the silence of stars, your memory calls,

I’m trapped in this dream where your laughter falls.

(Outro)

So I’ll keep walking ‘round, ‘til the daylight gives way,

Hoping one night you’ll find me and say,

“Look up at the stars, let the shadows disperse,

In this hole in the world, we’ll rewrite our verse.”
