Hive Of Thoughts

If thoughts were bees.

Just like a silly little singing bee,

Buzzing near my ear;

I swing to swat, things I wish I forgot that keeps me far from free.

They swarm, these thoughts that beg to be,

Because I keep their queen so near,

Just like a silly little singing bee.

My swatter’s launched, they flinch and dodge while I count from one to three.

Oh these blessed thoughts I fear,

As I swing to swat, things I wish I forgot that keeps me far from free.

There’s a steady hum as these thoughts fight to be free.

Their stingers ready, an attack is quite clear,

Just like a silly little singing bee.

With a sigh I let them consume me,

For each sting I shed one tear,

Still swatting the things I wish I forgot that keeps me far from free.

There are too many now so I prepare to flee,

This is all just too much to bear.

Just like a silly little singing bee,

I still swing to swat, the things I wish I forgot that keeps me far from free.
