His Smile, My Joy

His Smile, My Joy

By ElliePublished 10 months ago 1 min read

I sat in my chair, lost in my mind,

When a glimpse of him caught my eye, so bright.

After so long, a smile so true,

Lit up his face in a glow so new.

The glow of a screen, his laughter light,

A moment so rare, so pure, so bright.

Talking with friends, free of the weight,

For once, no sorrow, no burdened fate.

And in that moment, I understood,

A truth I'd heard but never could.

When you love someone, their joy is yours,

Their laughter echoes, their happiness soars.

But it hurts so much to see them in pain,

When life is cruel, when skies pour rain.

For love is not just joy—it’s deep, it’s real,

To hurt when they hurt, to feel what they feel.

And now I feel what it truly means,

To love someone—not just in dreams.
