Him
Gleams from eyes so soulful bright
they chime with wisdom words to light
a heart that’s full a spirit wise
that lifts my day – this rarest prize.
A battle hard a struggle clear
to be himself - out proud and queer
to hide no more to feel no blame
rejects dire claustrophobic shame.
This hiding’s done just standing proud
with courage facing anger’s crowd
who’s ignorance, so false and wrong
will vanish - leave him only strong.
Brave and raw new seeds to sow
his beauty that can only grow
internal grace augments so bright
the outward man, this human sight.
To talk with him to learn his mind
to feel his warmth so clean and kind
lights up my day with blinding bright
these eyes to fill - my heart to smite.
About the Creator
Jonny Evans
I quit the job, sold the house, and am now at university studying to be a writer. I have things to express and hope that the words might have meaning for others. I'm single, queer and a cancer survivor. Feedback welcome.
