After the quaint, somber rituals end
Beautiful silence returns for a while
Contemplating all that I have witnessed
Distracts me from the trivial present
Evening permits the light to relax
For me, it is a brief, blessed reprieve
Gargoyles are made to be brave sentinels
Holding the line against evil and sin
Intimidating is my countenance
Just monstrous enough to repel monsters
Knowledge have I of secrets few have seen
Looking down at your coy assignations
Murders, robberies, quick vandalism
Night liberates your most primitive drives
Of course, I have seen it all many times
Promises can endure for centuries
Question my strange, stony lot, I do not
Redoubts lofty afford one perspective
Seen from a great height, most woes seem quite small
To my eyes, the world seems largely unchanged
Under my gaze, you are born, live, and die
Visitors you are, not lingering long
Watching your movements makes me love stillness
Xenia, holy hospitality
Your gods taught you, and you have taught to me
Zones sacred and safe, my kind guards for yours

What a characterization! Gargoyles are quite interesting as is this abecedarian! Well done, D.J.!
Oooo, this was so deep! Loved it so much!
Gargoyle checking out everyone's crazy FB posts. 🤪
Great job! I think the image is giving off some Gargoyle and the City vibes
This Abecedarian poem is so interesting! (I had to look it up.) It has an interesting twist. Perceiving an evil character until you read the poem. So true, perceptions and preconceived ideas can be false.
Deftly done. Atmospheric and contemplative and the AI image sets the tone albeit humorous.
