Not an Adults Game

Hide seek was fun as kids

And stupid as an adult

You would hide

I would seek

You built the brick wall

And I joyous walked through it

Yet it wasn’t cardboard pieces

They were made of brick

And you found mortar

It was the real thing you built

And I was scared and bruised

I asked you why you did it?

You said I was crazy

I guess I was because you really meant

You intended to keep me out

And I thought it was a game

That you would come out and laugh with me

But you only threw bricks

Which broke the window of my soul

heartbreak

About the Creator

Lisa Pulliam

I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
