Hidden Hazards: The Jogger's Guide to Unseen Pet Waste
Championing Responsible Pet Ownership: A Call to Action
Out for a jog on a morning bright,
Through the park where the sun's soft light.
Steps light, a rhythm pure and neat,
In the quiet peace where paths meet.
Yet lurking near the trail I tread,
A hidden threat upon the spread.
Not a rock, nor twig, nor tangled root,
But a mound of doggy waste, the pursuit.
Unseen it lies beneath the sky,
Waiting for an unsuspecting passerby.
A squish, a stumble, a sudden halt,
Disrupts the stride, the rhythm's fault.
Why, oh why, neglect this chore,
To tidy up after the one they adore?
A simple deed, a minor task,
To shield all shoes from this messy ask.
Yet here I stand, my footwear stained,
With mounting frustration unrestrained.
A fleeting moment, a lapse in thought,
Leaves behind this unsightly blot.
Joggers, strollers, in shared dismay,
Fall prey to this heedless display.
So let's aspire to mindful ends,
To clear the mess, make timely amends.
For every runner on their way,
Deserves a clean and waste-free day.
A park where all can freely roam,
Without dread of soiling their sole's home.

Very well written
Wow! What a great poem to remind everybody 👏👏
Nice poem Jason. How I wish it were simple to keep public places clean. Some of us are irresponsible with our pets in public places because we know that workers will clean up after us.
