hidden in the creases
hanging on a whim
left in bits and pieces
hope lingers, wearing thin
alas, an unsung hero
a victim captured, turned around
like a feather from my pillow
descending softly to the ground
peacefully, floating freely
times wayward moments, gently pause
tender heartbeats defer completely
bowing to my soul's applause
enter, the anti-hero
revealing superpowers, never seen
salvaging my heart's ground zero
healing the places in-between
a sweet, gentle awakening
a dream, a wish inspired
freedom in the making
true happiness acquired
bittersweet the victory
heartbreak finally retired
the sweet reward of sanity
the emerging brain, rewired
