Here in the Dark
Created for Poppy's Prompt's 10
A single splinter of brilliant light
Darts through the empty keyhole,
Shining with hope that the flood will come
To ease the drought in my soul.
The key to my fate lies within, I know,
But I've lost it, somehow, in the status quo.

My first entry for Poppy's Prompts for October. A bit on the dark side, I know, but this set of prompts lends itself pretty well to that:

An effective blend of the words in the prompt, and lovely poem!
This is really really good. Poignant. π The flood metaphor was completely unexpected. And i adore how βkeyβ came in to complete the set up of βkeyhole.β
