Please, help me to understand

One. Years wasted, little to no love shown, never there when you needed her most. This was the one you chose forever with, but she committed the ultimate betrayal.

Two. She gave you hope and made you feel something you hadn't in a very long time. Everything with her felt good, but the ultimate thief is what she was, and she stole a part of you, with no remorse or intention of giving it back.

Three. The woman you wanted for more than half of your life. A beautiful dream, one that finally came true, until that dream became a reality, red flags popped up but you tried to ignore them. You made the time and tried to do everything right, but she made no effort for you. You should have just left her as a beautiful dream.

Me. Our relationship is not easy, but I wouldn't call it completely complicated either. I'm not with you full-time, but I always make time for you. Whether it's only for a couple of hours or all night, I make sure you have all of my attention. I miss you when I can't see you, and I live for the moments when I do. I try to show you what it's like to be loved right, what a healthy relationship should look like, but a year has gone by and you still don't seem to know what you want or who I am to you.

I understand where you're coming from, I hear you... I don't want to hurt you, and I know you don't want to hurt me, but we're trapped in limbo, and it hurts knowing that I may never know how you really feel or that what someone else said could actually be true.

Please, help me understand.
