This is my translation of an old song by a Soviet band "Secret." Not sure if it is eligile, but "passing ships" it definitely is.

Hello, the sky is raining tears

It's been how long? A hundred years or more

You take this train? What do you know,

You still got all that magic glow of yore

Hello, this day is really ours

I thought of you a couple hours ago

I guess it was both weird and loud

To shout to you across the crowd - hello!

Hello, it's such a rainy summer

All I can say, it is a bummer, although

What else you want to talk about?

And why the hell I had to shout hello

My life? It has its ups and downs

Sometimes it's smiles sometimes it's frowns and slow

But things are great and modern

Me, married? No, never (really) more than hello

Hello, the rain is getting stronger

The way I'm dressed is no longer OK

My feet are cold and getting wetter

But, even though I know better, I'll say

Since at the end what do I care

If you decide I'm out there or no

But maybe we could try together...

Oh, that's your stop? Well, mind the weather...
