Hello, I’m A Poem

Poetry Helps

By Earl W. PearlPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

Hello, I’m a poem that was written for you

I’m here to explain what you’ve been going through

The weirdness, your foibles, a skewed point of view

That hole in your heart from a love you outgrew

This poem is my gift punctuated with rhymes

A glimpse of your future in interesting times

Don’t worry of issues not yours to control

Since rumors exact an emotional toll

Your heart’s clearly broken, got dumped for a friend

I’m betting your love will soon blossom again

You thought about vengeance, then maybe you’d win

But nothing is gained showing evil its sin

Your life of surprises has been a bit much

Funerals, weddings, the cheating and such

Life authors some pages not meant to be read

Especially those pages where rumors are spread

Your name’s being slandered in hopes you’re offended

Stupid remarks that were deeply intended

Be wary those people, the “friend” that’s untrue

Don’t give them the power to lord over you

Just keep getting up when you’re knocked to the ground

There’s people who LOVE putting everyone down

Their words aren’t uplifting, they live to condemn

The crap that they’re spewing says more about THEM

Who corners the market of imminent strife

Our trials add the character needed in life

Troubles will come and it’s often in bunches

Handle your business and roll with the punches

I know I was written for someone in need

A poem with a message can strengthen indeed

There’s always a rhyme and there’s always a reason

Let me be your poem if you’re hurting this season
