My old friend

Can darkness be afraid of the dark?

How long have you been in this state?

You’re like fire, but you won’t shed a spark.

I think it’s time to get out of this place.

*

My vision is dim, can you turn up the light?

I can’t see where you’re taking me to.

The sun is bright, and it’s hurting my eyes,

things are blurry and somewhat askew.

*

I’m ashamed to admit I’m afraid of the dark.

I Don’t want you to think less of me.

But your grip on my arm is getting a bit rough,

I’m more scared of you, than what I can’t see.

*

I’m feeling quite cold, and the smell is evocative.

I think maybe, I’ve been here before.

I’m sure, if things went my way and I had my prerogative,

I wouldn’t be here anymore.

*

I meant no disrespect sir, with my previous remark,

please, don’t hold your anger against me.

I didn’t realize, when you said who you were, literally Dark.

You intimidate me, in actuality

*

I guess I should go, Maybe I will see you again.

Thank you so much for your kindness.

What do you mean I have to stay here,

And you have turned me into your Darkness?!
