Now in the beginning he wasn’t a snake
Considered by some just an honest mistake
By sixteen already the worst I had seen
The petulant sort if you know what I mean
He answered “Whatever” to every demand
An insolent kid that nobody could stand
Chalked full of rebellion, back-talking all day
Yet given no reason for acting that way
He never saw puberty, that’d be unfair
So up in his room, what’s he doing in there
He’s wicked and evil, this know-it-all louse
I finally said, “Jesus, get him outta Our house”
We punish rebellion, We settle the score
We changed all the locks, he ain’t welcome no more
I know he’s not finished, he’ll pop up again
Yes, that much is certain, the question is when
I fashioned a man in the image of Me
Still feeling creative I planted a tree
It came with a warning, don’t eat of its fruit
But they disobeyed so I gave ‘em the boot
It’s ever since then that humanity failed
With help from a devil who often rebelled
The teen cast from heaven is tormenting man
So I offered Jesus according to plan
My Son the Redeemer was sent to atone
But most still reject Him and go it alone
Your teen’s My revenge for the way you persist
Though made in your image, denies you exist
Fed up with you parents they fall to their knees
Praying I help them to do as they please
They lie with their promises thinking they’re clever
But I simply laugh and I answer, “Whatever”
