Hell's On Fire
A poem inspired by narcissistic abuse

You don't have to tell her what hell is like.
She already knows.
Day by day,
She learnt that lesson the hard way.
By lying in the arms of the wrong soul.
You don't know how hard she screamed to get out alive.
She was chased by demons.
That screamed her name.
They crawled out of the depths of the Earth.
Just to swallow her whole.
You don't know what she's seen.
Don't judge what lies beneath.
A mysterious mask,
To hide the fiend that hides inside,
Away from the naked eye.
You don't know what hell's like.
Until you have lived it for yourself.

This was beautiful and heartbreaking Chloe! I can't even empathize because I find it hard to properly imagine a world I don't know much about but my heart goes out to you! I admire your strength and courage to get yourself out of the situation you described! You inspire me! π
