On the ocean
the water is still.
Ripples of waves coming from within;
That outer lip of her ear pricks up,
taking in
the sound of the siren’s call:
Deadly in a beautiful facade
As her eyes focus;
Entranced
on the now crashing waves,
Drawing her in:
those treasures that used to house
Sparkling.
Then the light begins to shift
rising up
a turtle, she sees the greenest part
glowing
But now knows it is not true;
knows
the skin.
Ignores the knowledge…
On the ocean
A siren swims up to the surface.
A girl jumps into the water.
