Even when my plaintive
heart cries
my chambers a dry
ocean floor
sand sifting through
my veins
trickling into my
flooded hope well
until my hopes are
pushed over the edge
down a deep crevasse
where they sink
to the dark
lightless bottom
even then
Heaven still hears me
and lights a lamp
when I look up to
a tear lit sky and
the rain soaks my soul
until I think I
will never stop
and I ask why I...
and when will I...
Heaven still hears me
and lights my path
when the world
comes against me
for knowing and
speaking truth
as the enemy tries
so hard to discourage
and fracture me
until I get overwhelmed
so that I stumble
grabbing for something
to break my fall
Heaven still hears me
and lights my sword.
Amen.
