Heaven’s Mirror

Gabriela’s Eyes

Broken I sat inside the darkness of my soul

Desperate for a feeling that left me as coal

Leftover embers burned in my heart

Waiting for a reason to die or to restart

Then along came my love, my passion and my friend

I couldn’t see you coming but God saw you around the bend

You saved me from a chasm so deep, one which I created

Dragged me up from a well of despair in which I hated

What a strong and beautiful woman I saw inside of you

That was just the beginning of the spiritual cue

For God had a goal that I couldn’t see

Great plans for you and great plans for me

A deep peace, the mirror of heaven is shown in your eyes

If you look hard enough your visions will pierce the skies

For we still have much life left to live, quite young we are

That will not stop us from achieving greatness, near and far
