Heartbeat

Of the Ocean

By Colleen WaltersPublished 7 months ago Updated 7 months ago 1 min read

Contoured waves rushing in

to the waiting shore

tumbling into liquid form

before being pooled

and pulled away in

a loop of perpetual

tension of push

and pull of tiny

droplets transformed

into daunting waves

Of solid power

and then released

again to flow freely

as one wave transforms

into a solid wall

another releases

in perpetuity

breathing, pulsing

the heartbeat

of the ocean.

Whoa, this one is so soothing! I could hear the rhythm in the repetition and feel the push-pull tension in every line. 💖
