Watching the world's grossest gore,
I could not agree with you more,
that change must come,
violence is the ever beating drum.
Change must start in the heart,
this is when Wisdom will impart,
a noble cause and purpose,
to keep mind's eye from furnace.
Let us be the few to rise,
souls set apart, thus baptized,
and internally renewed,
new lives accrued.
The gospel is best preached,
the people better reached,
by our actions and our love,
we know this Truth from above.
Thus we are sent to the nations,
instead of knowing comfortable stations,
for if we do not go,
then who will ever know?
The crosses we carry,
let us never tarry,
let us live like no tomorrow,
and forget not the Savior's sorrow.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
