He smiled at Me

A poem

By LaVerne CuylerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I question my existence at times.

I wonder if I am really living or just a shadow, a mimic of existence of a soul from another moment in time, another plane.

I feel trapped...

I feel alone.

-Disconnected.

He shined at me. He spoke to me in that voice, that tone...

My heart stops beating.

He smiled at me. My soul fluttered.

He scares me. He is energy. He is the tears on my cheeks.

I laugh. I die.

Why?

- his eyes.

I feel a shine in my soul. I feel... I feel.

Did he do this? Did he move the shadow from my from my vision?

Tears flood my heart. His kiss on my lips. I melt into the sun.

I float away.

- a cloud of rain.

A storm on the horizon, a child’s laughter...

- so innocent.

His touch on my skin. I fall into endless. I feel the sand between my toes.

He is light.

He is real.

I am alive. I am alive. A shift. A shift in my spirit. He catches the sun. A kiss on my cheek. The tears are gone.

Free.

He set my pain free. His voice, that tone. My heart skips a beat.

Dreams of him like flowers in a field.

No more...I hide. He knows me. I exist on this plane, in the moment in time. My existence is mine.
