He is a Pearl
Christ Jesus. Unexpected to be found on our world, but here with us, nonetheless. Emmanuel.
Your Majesty, Your love for me abounds greater than all the water in the sea.
You inspect me closely like a lover whose gaze rests upon the subject of His affection.
You hear me keenly.
You have never forgotten a word uttered from my lips.
Neither have You forgotten Your word.
...
It was Your word that spun the cord through the needle as You sewed me into existence.
Knitting me in my mother’s womb, You called me out through her birth canal and I came.
Here, I am.
...
You are the Lord Most High who sits above a thousand hills
And more valiant, strong, and majestic than a thousand mountains.
The snowy white peaks of Mt. Everest are only an echo of Your glory.
Your Majesty, You are too beautiful for my eyes to behold.
Your lovely visage is invisible to the naked eye,
Yet You are all I see.
You take up the scope of my vision with Your abundant grace and mercy.
...
Who is to know the wonderful ways of the Lord, our God?
How can one know the dimensions of His love?
The seed you have planted in me is turning into a beautiful garden.
Lovingly, You guide my heart to the path of salvation.
...
When I was in the mire and the pit, you drew me out.
When I was dry as a bone, clinging to death as though it were life,
You led me to fresh water and revived my soul.
My heart beats for You, Your Majesty.
...
When poison spewed from my lips and every word I said was dipped in lead,
You kissed my mind, placing Your hand on my heart, and cleansed the bitterness with the blood of Your only Son.
Oh Majesty, tell me, who is like You?
...
You let my broken mirror crack so that I could finally see me.
And I have only just met you.
Our time together has just begun.
...
No swindler can swindle,
Nor murderer can murder,
Nor destroyer can destroy
What I have found in Christ Jesus.
It is like a pearl in tall grass.
...
Fling the gaudy gold that lustfully shines with keen idolatry and self-praise.
Fling the silvery tongue of a sarcastic bard who plays songs of hopeless yesterdays.
Fling the onyx, jasper, emerald and ruby.
...
He is a pearl.
Unexpected to be found on our world,
Hidden in plain sight,
Fermented through turmoil,
For His blood to be savored as fine wine.
...
My Majesty is Jesus Christ the Messiah,
The Spirit who raised Him,
And the Father who taught Him.
Let this be for an ear who is ready to hear, amen.
