Have you any sympathy for the other?
Any heart for someone who doesn’t look or think like you?
To think that you can only tolerate your “equals”
Really is a shame, don’t you see?
Even if you can’t see eye-to-eye
Don’t you dare try seeing heart-to-heart?

Divisions only make us weaker
Individuals can’t perform the duties of an entire pack—
Variety is the spice of life and makes us stronger
It’s our differences that keep us standing tall—
Don’t buy into the propaganda that they shove upon us
Even “equals” can lie to tear us down
Stop the hatred before it takes us over

Doctor hates spiders People drop dead across town Doctor proven right Author's Note: This poem is for Matthew Fromm's "bad movie" or "bad" movie review challenge, which you can find here. (I went with the latter, writing a bad review of a movie.) As the subtitle indicates, this review is of Arachnophobia. I found the movie to be hilarious and creepy at the same time (the latter mostly because I really hate spiders), but I can see how it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

More Than Just Words
More than sweet words, I cherish the people who are willing to show up for me. The depth of a relationship isn’t determined by how many times we say, “Let’s meet up another day.” Those seemingly warm words often go unfulfilled. Instead, it is the friend you don’t contact often, or even someone who lives far away, who quietly drives over the moment you say, “I’m a little tired lately.”
