Hard To Swallow

Poetry by me

By Christina CanteroPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I lie in bed.

With this heaviness in my chest.

Wishing I could see you...

But somehow you feel less.

I swore I felt something real

But for you that wasn’t the deal.

Yet here I am wondering, where has my heart gone?

I didn’t understand it was something you could steal.

You took me for a joke!

So now all I do is get lost in this smoke.

Some how the hurt is here too.

This pain leaves me empty & hollow.

This pain is hard to swallow.
