Happy Childhood

Is right of all kids

Wearing a pink princess dress,

she is riding her scooter

in the cul-de-sac.

Spring’s air is breezy.

The sun is shining

in the western sky,

casting an amber glow.

Finches are chirping.

Mother is there to care,

a little toddler brother

in the stroller to cheer.

Her jacket pocket

holds crunchy snacks.

She is giggling and smiling,

talking ceaselessly,

as she hones her

scooter-riding skills.

Carefree happiness

and confidence on her face.

She is feeling secure,

and deeply loved.

That’s the stuff of a

beautiful childhood—

and future nostalgia.

May all kids get to have

such nurturing,

wholesome formative years.

I had a childhood just like the one in the picture. I played with friends, riding bikes, climbing trees, swimming in the creek to drinking from a water hose and many more fun things of childhood. Good job.
