You…..what makes you happy?
I really want to know!
Do you like the sunshine?
Or do you prefer the snow?
Is there any entertainment,
That you like to see?
Perhaps you like live theater?
Or to sit and watch a movie?
Do you like to travel?
Or do you like to stay in one place?
Are you happy helping others?
Do you try to spread good grace?
We think that being happy
Will make our lives be better
We strive to always smile
Even when under the weather
But some aren't always happy
Some are always sad
Some are always fearful
And some are always mad
Some say that they are happy
But really It’s a lie
For inside they are suffering
And would rather die
So that's why I was wondering, what brings you joy?
Do you like being with others? Or getting a new toy?
You say there are many things that help, when you're feeling blue
I wonder….what makes you happy. Does it make others happy too?

And the first line pulled me from the dark closet I was hiding in. What makes me happy, does it makes others happy too. Wow. Teaching us to be selfless in such a unique and thought provoking way. A very talented person you are, and I am grateful to stumble upon this poem. Between the first one I read and this one, I would say they are equally my favourite.
