Friends

Your Friends…..what kind of people are they?

I'd really like to know!

Do you meet with them quite often?

Or are they always on the go?

For how long have you known them?

Has your friendship grown with the years?

Do you know each other well?

Your joys, your hopes, your fears….

Would they say good things of you?

If others were to query

Or do you pause and wonder

If they'd say something scary.

We often look to friends to help us

When the times get rough

It's then we need reminding

That we're made of sterner stuff

It's nice to know there's someone

Who can make you feel much better

By simply being there for you

Or sending you a letter

True friends are hard to come by

For many come and go

And some only want things from you

Then leave when you are low

Do you think your friends will by your side remain?

Will they be there always? In both joy and pain?

You say you are quite sure that they'll be there till the end

I wonder….do those people truly think of you as a friend?
