Happiness skips in the halls of incandescent candles without a pass or permission. She hums warmly with a busy message meant only for certain tired souls. Greet her with your smile today.

She will give many children a parallel hall pass.

Yes. We may see the days of pulsating, pounding, and pending homework up ahead. It is okay and it will be. Todo va a estar bien. Believe.

Hang on to the promises that you used to invest in and give up those fat, rounded pennies that you still save in your pig-protected bank, little one. They can be absent for a minute, just not missing or forgotten.

Maybe you will be the one chosen for delivering the next message. Wait for the miracle of her arrival under the quiet, hungry reading tree. She will show up with a toothy grin when you are not looking; she will look like me.

About the Creator

Raissa Dassel

I have been a poet since my childhood. It peaked during my misunderstood teens and now again in my 50th year of life. It would be an honor to have people respond to my thoughts. I played the piano as a child, too. It is a beautiful life.
