Life has endless stressors,
but we can't live in fear.
We’ve got to find respite
to thrive, despite chaos.
So I create cozy nooks,
and establish self-care routines.
That summer afternoon,
as the sun was setting,
I placed a table by the
vibrant nasturtium patch
in my backyard garden.
A plate of crispy pakoras
and a cup of steaming tea.
I munched, and sipped,
inhaling the sweet pea
watching the swallows
flying overhead.
I was filled with serenity
and overflowing gratitude.
We can’t dwell on complaints.
We can’t expect others
to make us happy.
We must learn how
to glean and savor awe
in mundane and ordinary.
