Father-Child Conversation

Full of wisdom

Daddy, I say,

I need a race car.

But what I really need

is to hold your finger

and for you to lead me.

Tell me about life,

its purpose, and wisdom.

Teach me how not to fall —

and if I do, how to rise.

How to be kind,

how to tame my mind

in a world full of temptations.

I need you to be there

to guide me through pitafalls,

as I make sense of it all.

With you around,

even the mundane is fascinating —

because I am wrapped in love,

and I know I am not alone.

Take care of your health,

for it will be

my inherited wealth.
