A glimpse
turned glance -
I gaze,
struck like a dog bite
straight out of a cage.
Her dimples and sly smile shine
at such an angle,
a nest of hair
I wish to untangle.
Whether it be a feature or facet
of this mysterious creature,
I am left with no choice but
to meet her.
Falling for more
than we realize each day,
it’s left alone
& there is no
severance to pay.
Though,
there comes a draw
whether to gather courage
or cower in awe
&& I think,
as brash as it might be,
that we push away love
for this subconscious fright.
Circumstance, this classic case
of reality, with which an idea
we have chosen to replace.
Love is bound to no body,
may we fall in deeply
with a leaf, hue, or hobby.
You alone though,
I have to say
was I compelled to that day.
No fear hanging near,
all I wanted to hear
is everything in this whole world which you hold dear.
Your past
pushed by wind behind your highest mast,
towards what future might be built
by what your heart hasn’t yet spilt.
Neither of us knew what we were in store for that day,
but alas-
is it that for which many pray.
Despite the energetic dogma we jokingly spite
there might be something to this, just maybe there might.
