Hands

A Short Poem

By Rika LekayPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

You’ve always been there for me,

Always by my side,

You reveal so much to me,

About myself,

That I never knew,

And to think...

All you do is hang at my side,

By force...

You’re forced to stay by me,

But without you...

I wouldn’t be able to do much,

I’d limit myself to what I can do.

Unlike you, your twin is useless to me,

Yet he’s seen as right and perfect,

But he looks just like you!

Yet you’re perceived as evil,

A demon,

Possessed,

A witch,

A source to black magic,

Why?

Why are you perceived as dark?

But your twin is perceived as light?

Even after all these claims,

I’d like to thank you for all you’ve done,

I will love you for as long as I live,

It’s the least I can do,

To show I appreciate your help,

We always have each other,

But we cannot do it alone,

With you and your twin,

We can accomplish as much as we need,

I hope I never lose you or your twin,

Thank you for all you’ve done.
